(or, What Happens When NaNoWriMo Procrastination Occurs)
While eating a Deg muffin in Yosemite's Degnan's Deli on Saturday morning (a.k.a. Halloween), I heard "The Addams Family Theme" played over the speaker system, which resulted in having the song stuck in my head the whole time I was hiking to North Dome. That, along with the ever-present need to procrastinate during NaNoWriMo, resulted in this ghastly parody. (By the way, research shows that snapping along helps with the experience.)
The trails at night are spooky
The bears aren't cute like Pooky
But I can't help a look-see
Yosemite Valley
Domes and waterfalls: dreamy
The Merced River: streamy
Sunlit pine needles: gleamy
Yosemite Valley
Neat
Sweet
Granite
So gather your pals and gear
No matter the time of year
You really ought to be here
Yosemite Valley
And just in case those lyrics completely ruined your memory of the song, here is the original to restore it.
