American Idol 8 - The Top Two - Liveblog

In just thirty-five minutes, the nation will witness one of the most lopsided finals in American Idol history as Adam Lambert wipes the stage with Kris Allen. That isn't to say Allen won't do well. I'm sure he'll give solid performances. Unfortunately, they won't stand a chance against Glambert's powerhouse productions.

last night was anti-climatic. to be honest, it would have been a better competition had danny won last week. kara's song was lame, but the lyrics and the melody would have really suited danny's voice. speaking of which, did you hear that he is starting an eyeglasses line? what a shock, eh?

you're right, no way that adam did not win last night. even i voted for him, quite a few times, at that. :p

i can't see myself ever buying kris's music, but who knows.

it's been a great season. it's going to be another long night, ryan promises. oh boy.

did you watch "glee" last night? this may be premature to say, but i think glee>HSM! i can't wait until the fall. :)

Last night would have been a true tug of war if Danny had been there. I think he would have had a good run at Kara's song. I only hope Adam's recorded version sounds better than the performance he gave last night.

I had no idea the next time I see the optometrist, I'll be able to buy Gokey glasses. :D

I can actually envision myself buying Kris's album before buying anything by Adam. I think Adam would be great to see perform in person, but I don't know if my ears could handle ten tracks of him.

This has been a great season. They had a great group of talent this year. Even so, I'm dreading the 2+ hour-finale, which just started.

I did see Glee last night in spite of myself. It was definitely better than HSM. It totally put me mind of Fame, a show I loved as a kid. My favorite character was Bruno, the pianist. Anyway, when Glee ended, I was bummed because now we have to wait months and months until the next new episode. Fox is such a tease.

okay, last night.... wut??

i have to say, i was shocked, and blogs, news sources everywhere are calling the result an upset. i think my favorite quote from a news commentator was this, "adam not winning is a blessing in disguise. it's going to keep him from having to sing 'no boundaries' for the next year." haha. amen to that! :p

here's a link regarding danny's eyewear line:

i thought last night's idol show was very entertaining. i actually watched most of it instead of bloop-bloop-blooping on my tivo like i normally do. i think it has been the best season ever. sad we have to wait until january to get our fix. and i agree, what a tease that we have to wait until the fall to watch more "glee."

I was shocked, too. It certainly seemed like Adam had the competition locked away, but apparently America had other ideas.

Regarding the quote: LOL! It's true. He dodges the "No Boundaries" song and is free to sing whatever he wants.

Thanks for the link. If Danny's eyewear line is actually tied to his wife's association, I'll have to take a closer look at it. Tangentially, I think his elimination last week probably cost Adam the title. I think a number of Gokey fans voted for Kris. Then again, if Kris had gotten the boot last week, I now suspect Adam would have lost to Danny instead.

Last night's show was definitely entertaining. I stay tuned for most of the guest appearances. The group singing was horrendous, but I stuck through it. The only parts I bailed on were the Golden Idol Awards segments.

I think Idol will have a tough time topping this season. I think it may be time to have an All-Star runner-up season pitting former also-rans against each other -- Pickler, Bice, Daughtry, Lambert, Aiken, Archuleta and others.
