52 Books in 52 Weeks - 2006 Edition

What follows is the list of the books I read in 2006. Of the 52 listed, 34 were fiction and 18 were nonfiction. 44 were written by men, 8 were written by women, and none were written by ferrets. You did a lot better than I did. I tried it first in '05 and got in 32 books. In '06 even worse - about 20. I blame it on a trend of working late nights the last year or so -- usually I lay and read awhile before falling asleep, but lately I've been passing out right away, before the book even gets cracked open.

Of these, which was your favorite? I've got #10 waiting on my shelf.

I usually have the same problem of falling asleep before breaking a book open if I'm in bed, so I get most of my reading done on the bus or train. (Thank goodness for public transit.) It's hard to choose just one favorite out of last year's batch. #10 was a good book, but right now, I would have to single out Sarah Vowell's Assassination Vacation. It a blend of humor, travel, history, and presidential trivia.
