Chantico
Thanks to a tip from a kind commenter, I took a short lunch yesterday to leave the office early and stop by the nearest Starbucks for the new Chantico drink. For one hour, sixty entire minutes, they were offering customers free six-ounce samples of what they call drinking chocolate. I call it a little cup of heaven. As I was trying it, I looked at the menu board for the price. I gaped in astonishment, drops of divinity nearly spilling from my mouth, as it slowly registered that the next six-ounce cup of chocolate goodness I ordered would cost $2.65. Apparently, heaven in a cup doesn't come cheap. (Yet, the temptation remains.)

ooh, i had the sample chantico yesterday too. awesome but really decadent! i think it's too rich for me. but i drank it all anyway. ;P and they gave me biscotti too. i was so wired for my class. then i went to the gym for an hour. ;)
Ooh, full-post RSS feed now. w00t!!
i tried it, it's really rich but not creamy enough for me. I'd like it more if they had some milk in it. Coupa Cafe in Palo Alto has the best that I've tried so far.
I'm sure you'd be able to get the Chantico with steamed milk (or foam): the baristas at the SBs I've been to are pretty open-minded about customizing drinks.
Also, I'm pretty sure, too, that you'd be able to get 'samples' of the new 'drinking chocolate' all week. Just try your luck at different Starbucks, and look innocent: "Oh, could I have a taste?" With any luck you'll get sick of the stuff and won't need to shell out the $3. ;)
honeydew Ooh, I missed out on the biscotti. I have to try that with my next order. :)
fling93: It took me a while to figure out how. I'm no RSS whiz, that's for sure. :P
arlene: I still mean to get to Coupa Cafe, just haven't found myself in P.A. lately. Soon, though. :)
Siona: Hmm... I bet I could pull off the whole innocent act at the one nearest home. It might work. I also have a feeling after another cup or two, I'll be back to ordinary (and less costly) coffee. :P
